Pregnant Ladies

Apparently if you are Nick and Wendy's kid, or married to one, and married you will have a baby this year! There was absolutely no planning involved, it just kinda happened. Linda had her baby in May, Nicole is due in August, Megan's is due in September, and Heather's is due in October.
We are expecting 2 boys and 2 girls to be added to the family. Needless to say, Grandma and Papa are very excited!
It is pretty fun for Megan to be pregnant with her sister Nicole, this is most likely the only time it will ever happen and to only be a month apart is way cool!

New York

In the middle of July we got to go to New York for a long weekend with Marcus' Dad and Kimberly! It was so much fun. It was the first time for Marcus, Megan went a long time ago when she was like 13. Payton stayed home with Grandma and Papa (Megan's parents) and had a blast with them. We got to see a lot of cool sights.
We stayed in a hotel just a few blocks away from Times Square. That is a pretty cool place to see at night all lit up. We went to the "top of the Rock," which is the Rockefeller Center, at night and got to see a great view of the city at night. We got a cool picture of the Empire State Building all lit up.

The next day we went on top of Empire State and got a great daytime view of the city. It is amazing how many tall buildings there are there. Later that night we got to go and see Wicked!!! Megan was very excited, she has been wanting to see this show for a few years now, so it was awesome for her to finally see it. It was very good! Thankfully everyone else liked it too, since she told them we had to go see it. :)

We also went to the Museum of Natural History (the one from the movie Night at the Museum). It was pretty cool to see, but it didn't look too much like the movie.

We also went to Central Park, of course! It is so amazing that they have this huge park in the middle of a towering city. While we were there we had to stop at a hot dog stand and get a hot dog. Megan forgot that Marcus wanted to take a picture, so hers was pretty much gone by that time! Dang hungry pregnant lady! :)

Last but not least we went to see the Statue of Liberty. She hasn't aged one bit! :) It is fun to see so many places that you see frequently in the movies. It makes them a little more real.

Thanks for taking us MOH and Kimberly!

4th of July and Train Ride

For the 4th of July we went to the Murray parade. This has been a tradition for us since we started dating. It is much more fun having a kid to take with us now! :) Payton really seemed to enjoy watching it with his cousins. Mom and Dad were on guard the whole time for candy being chucked at him...they were throwing it a little too hard this year. Payton had fun trying to spray some of the people in the parade as they walked by, he thought it was pretty funny.
Later that night we went over to Grandma and Papa's house for dinner and fireworks with the neighbors in their circle. Payton loved watching the fireworks. He is still asking if he can see more fireworks to this day. Sometimes he will pretend that he is setting some off out of his milk cup or whatever he is playing with at the time. Very cute.

The next day Megan's cousin Marci invited us to go for a train ride down at a house in Lindon where they have a train track that goes all around a bunch of peoples houses. It was really neat how they had it all set up. Payton had a lot of fun riding on it with his second cousins and we did too!

Payton's 2nd Birthday!

"Tractor Digger Trucks!"
For Payton's Birthday on June 30th we had a construction themed party. Everytime we would drive by construction he would yell out "tractor digger trucks!" We invited all the family over for cake and ice cream and had all his cousins decorate their own construction hat with stickers. It was lots of fun. He had fun opening all of his presents, but he didn't like that as soon as he opened one we took it away to have him open another. He wanted to keep playing with each new toy.
Megan made his birthday cake to look like there was "dirt" on it and had the digger on it too. When he first saw it he got all wide eyed and thought it was pretty cool. He grabbed the digger and tried to shove the shovel part into the cake. It was very cute.

Lake Powell!!

We made our annual family trip to Lake Powell this year the end of June. Papa let Payton help him drive the houseboat and honk the horn a few times, he thought that was pretty cool. It was really hot, but thankfully the water was still cool and refreshing.

We took Payton for his first ride on the Jetski's, which he really enjoyed, and on the tube, which he loved and didn't want to get off. We went with Megan's family, Drew, and the Forrest's (neighbors), it was a very fun group.

Payton and Megan had fun riding in the boat and watching Drew, Andrew, and Marcus get tossed around on the tube. They caught some good air a few times and kept going back for more.

Payton had a hard time taking naps and getting to bed on time since there was so much going on all the time, he had a couple melt-downs. On the ride home he got a really good nap. He woke up after sleeping for a couple hours, asked for his book, and then fell back to sleep minutes after. It was very cute!

Hogle Zoo

We took Payton to the Zoo for the first time the beginning of June. He really seemed to like seeing all the animals in person. He was somewhat mesmerized by all of them. We got to see the white alligator, lots of monkeys, zebras, penguins, giraffes, tigers, bears, elephants, and the list goes on and on. It was a fun little family outing for us.

Memory of Megan or Marcus

Here is a fun little memory game! Feel free to post something about either of us!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! I guess good or bad, but be nice!!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

St. George Trip

We went on our first family vacation this year down to St. George with some friends in May.
On the way down we stopped in Hurricane to see Payton's Great Grandpa Mitch where he got to sit on his cool motorcycle!

Payton gets soooooo excited whenever he sees one so to get to actually touch it and sit on it was way cool!!!

The joys of a sleeping child! Napping in the car with puppy and "nigh, nigh." Before the trip we discovered that Payton no longer fits in a playpen...so we got a glimpse of what it will be like when he is in a toddler bed. We had him sleep on a futon matress next to our bed. Let's just say that he decided naps during the day we optional because everyone else was up having fun.

Hiking up at Snow Canyon with the crew. We let Payton out of the backpack for a little while, he had to stop and check out everything. It took a little more time, but he loved the freedom.

Our growing family.

One of the rare naps during the day.

Payton got out of the pool to get his life jacket. He only took a few steps then quickly squatted down because he was cold and wouldn't move. It was very funny. He loved being tossed in the air by daddy. He is definately a thrill seeker.

All of us (minus prego) going for one last swim at the condo before we headed back to Salt Lake.

Every time I wash the sheets and attempt to fold them, Payton gets really excited and quickly runs over and lays down on them. Watch the clip to find out why (sorry it is sideways)...

Our Little Boy

Payton has turned into a little boy in the last month. He lost his baby look, talks all the time and amazes us with the new things he will say and do. Here are a few moments our little man has done to entertain us with since our last post...

He helps himself to cereal, his all time favorite is Rice Krispies with Strawberries. And if Mom and Dad get a Jamba, he must have one too!

Isn't this how you ride on the "choo choo" train? At least he figured out another use for Daddy's ears!

Helping Daddy clean up his garage...

and mow the lawn.

It only took us three attempts to get a good handprint in the wet cement. Once we put his hand in it he kept trying to grab a fist full. That was fun! :)

Payton loves to be chased around the island in our kitchen. Here is one of the many times it has happened that we were able to video. He had been running for a while, so he is moving a little slower than usual, but it is still quite entertaining. It is a small glimpse of his cute personality.
