We Love Having Family in Town!!!

In July Marcus' sisters, and family's, were both able to make it out to Utah!  

We have so much fun when we are all together and wish it could happen more often.  We were only missing one person and wish she could have made it too!  While we were all together we decided to take some family pictures at the last minute. 

It was lots of fun and we were so happy to have them all stay with us!

4th and 24th of July Fun

We love fireworks and look forward to them every year!  For the 4th we did our own fireworks just in Megan's parents circle (which is tradition) with friends and family. Megan enjoyed the view laying down (details of our recent medical adventures to come), but was glad to get out of the house and do something fun.  

For the 24th we went and watched a firework show.  Before it started, Payton got to hold a few sparkler.  He thought that was pretty cool.  

We also got to enjoy watching the sunset before the show started.  

Kid's Room Facelift

So we decided to make our kids room look a little more like a kids room by adding some color to the wall.  Here is a before...

and an after shot.  The kids love it and it is much more fun!

Payton turned 4!

We can't believe that Payton is 4!  These darn kids grow up way too fast!!! I bet you can't guess what the theme of Payton's birthday was...

...yep, it was the color orange, it's his favorite color.  We asked him why and he said, "because it is the color at Home Depot!"  Of course, we should have known that! 

 We had fun letting the kids decorate their orange cupcakes with orange candies.

The kids played pass the orange. They had fun with that!

It was really funny for the grown ups to watch too! 

We played red light, green light.  Megan was afraid she might get attacked!

The kids also played duck, duck, goose (with an orange twist to it of course).

After all the fun and games, Payton opened all his present and got some great stuff! He really likes his new bike and his own orange tool box with real tools in it!

To cool off after all this fun (because they didn't put enough sugary sweet stuff on their cupcakes), we ate some orange popsicles! The "babies" really enjoyed these.

Adventures in Camping

We were able to go camping at a couple places in June.  First we went to Capitol Reef (which is Megan's new favorite place because they have grass at their campsite, which means less dirt for the kids to play in. Yay!). 

It was so beautiful and so much fun. Our kids really like sleeping in a tent, they think it is way cool!

We went with some friends, our kids got along really well and had a blast together. 

Payton and Lacey had fun getting into mischief and climbing whatever they could.

We went on a couple different hikes while we were there. On one we saw some really cool petroglyphs.

And on another we saw where many pioneers carved their names in the rock wall.  It was really cool to seem them and the dates they came through!

While on this hike, cute Emma decided to take a nap.  Such a cutie!!

Another weekend, Megan and the kids went camping in Aspen Grove by Strawberry with her family.  

They stayed in her parents camper which was a lot of fun for the kids (until Payton fell off his bunk onto Megan in the middle of the night).

The kids all went fishing at the lake and had so much fun being together!

The Zoo

Megan 's family met up at the Zoo in June for Andrew's (Dave & Linda's youngest) 2nd birthday.  Her family is getting so big, her parents love having so many grandkids!  

While we were there a peacock put on a show for us, it was really cool!

Oregon in April

We were able to make a trip out to Oregon in April and visit Marcus' family.  While there we went to OMSI (a really cool hands on museum).  

The kids loved it there and all the thing they could touch and play with.  It was really cool, even for the grown ups!

We also went to a forest, because Megan really wanted to see some huge trees. 

It was so pretty and amazing to see how tall the trees are.  

And to see how wide some of the trees are.

It was really easy to hide behind the trees because they were so big!

We also got to see our nephew Andre play a few Lacrosse games!  That is a really fun sport to watch.  

Payton would listen to what people were yelling, and then yell them to Andre.  His top two phrases were, "Go Andre, go!"  "Andre get the ball!!!"  Very cute!

Easter Fun!

We did celebrate Easter oh so long ago.  The kids had a lot of fun finding the eggs.  We had a hunt at Megan's parents house with all the cousins and that was a blast!  

The kids scored with their findings and were very happy.  Even the little ones got a lot!

Payton loved that he got to dye the eggs this year.  It was the first time we let him really help us and he thought it was way cool.  Megan found a cool trick of putting the egg in a whisk to keep the kids hands out of the dye.

The kids were very excited to search for their eggs and baskets on Easter morning.  They were very cute to watch.

Sorry for the MAJOR slacking on keeping our blog up-to-date.  Life has been very hectic lately and time flies by, but I don't think that is going to change any time soon.  We are all alive and well here and soon you will get a glimpse into what we have been up to the last few months!
